Senior Occupational Health Nurse

 

We are seeking to recruit a full or part-time Senior Occupational Health Nurse for our client to be mainly based in their clinic in the midlands.

 

The Role

 

This is a new role, and our client is looking for a qualified, experienced OH Nurse to fill this role.

 

The person will lead OH review assessments under the direction of the OH Physicians. This will involve engagement with OH Physicians, other healthcare professionals and administration staff, patients, and employers, to ensure delivery of an excellent health service to meet customer expectations.

The company provides specialist occupational health services and health surveillance to employers, It is a small, dynamic private practice, with a wide range of services for employers.

 

The company employs occupational health physicians, nurses, and technicians who are supported by an administration team.

 

Services are provided at its clinics in Naas and Swords, and on-site to customers through its mobile medical unit.

 

The company is an SEQOHS accredited business and uses state of the art medical systems and equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

In-Clinic Consultations to include

 

·        OH Review Assessments and Reports

·        OH Case Management under the direction of the OH Physician

·        Pre-Employment Medicals

 

Health Supports

 

·        Support to Health Surveillance Unit (Mobile Unit)

·        On-Site Occupational Vaccination Programs (Flu)

 

Reporting

 

Reporting to the Acting OH Nurse Manager.

 

Person Required


The ideal candidate will have:


  • RGN Qualification

  • Registration as OH specialist with NMBI

  • Post Graduate Qualification in Occupational Health

  • Minimum 5 years OH Nurse experience operating in industry or private practise

  • Experience of performing OH assessments or of OH Nurse role in either Industry or Private Practice (min 5 years)

  • Clinical experience required to assess patient rehabilitation and recovery milestones and verify the expected return to work date


Ideally, the candidate will have completed or be willing to complete the Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification from RCSI or similar or be willing to undertake this, although while this is a preference it is not essential.


Other requirements include:

 

  • Great interpersonal and intrapersonal skills for working will a variety of stakeholders (employers, patients, OHPs, OH Nurses, Medical Technicians and Admin Staff )

  • Good ability to write clear and decisive OH Review Reports and meet the OH Report standards

  • Ability to work to a daily appointment schedule

  • Ability to meet service level on report turnaround time

  • Quick to learn the company systems and standards

  • Good computer / IT skills (MS Office Suite and Medbase)

  • Comfortable with Virtual OH Assessments

 

Training and mentoring will be provided by the Medical Director and Acting OH Nurse Manager.

 

Contract Duration and Hours

 

This is a permanent position.

 

The role is full or part-time, 3-5 days per week depending on your preference. A minimum of 3-days is required but a 4-day or 5-day week is available, and the company is flexible on workdays if part-time.


Location

 

At the clinic in Naas primarily with 1 day per week in Swords.

 

Remote Working

 

If working full-time there is some flexibility to do necessary admin and report writing 1-day per week working remotely when bedded in and operating fully in the role.
